Next En Plein Aire Competition

is on Saturday October 19, 2013!

*Up east they call it “paint out",

out west they call it a "quick draw". 

here in South Florida, we call it the

Hollywood Plein Air Event. 

It is an outdoors painting event “En Plein Air ” or as they say in Hollywood,  "en Plein Fun".

Here's how it works:  There are three categories:
Plein Air Competitive, Plein fun and Plein Kids.

The Plein Air Competitive must paint a live scene from the downtown Hollywood boundaries.  Three hours of painting for a live view of Hollywood.

 

The Plein Fun category for artists amateur or professional that like to get outdoors and make art are - paint anything they would care to create, and just have a great time.

 

The Plein Kids category is open to kids and young adults under the age of 16.  If you are
16 or over, you will be in a different category.  The Plein Kids can paint what they would like, but we encourage the painting be a live scene of Hollywood.  This is a great way to practice for winning these competitions the rest of your life!

 

Visual artists of all disciplines are invited to create their work outdoors in beautiful downtown Hollywood.   Here's the catch -  all works must be completed in three hours, then you'll have one additional hour to prepare (frame, mount etc.) the work for display, and judging will take place at Comfort Zone Studio & Spa as will the ceremony that evening during the Artwalk.

Come early and set up on your favorite spot within the designated boundaries, check in with a clean "canvas or other support", - we'll give it a special stamp and registration number - settle in and get started when the bell rings.
You'll meet and mingle with other local artist and art supporters and collectors.  This event is open to the public to view.
